Cashback on fuel and a payment of 1,500 UAH: the government has expanded its support programme for Ukrainians
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Ukrainian government has expanded the “National Cashback” scheme.
From now on, Ukrainians will be able to receive a partial refund for fuel purchases at petrol stations that join the scheme.
Under the new terms, participants in the initiative will receive 15% cashback on diesel, 10% on petrol and 5% on LPG.
As Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced, this programme will run until 1 May.
In addition, the government is launching a one-off payment of 1,500 UAH for pensioners and the most socially vulnerable groups.
According to Svyrydenko, this payment is intended to support elderly pensioners, people with disabilities, those on low incomes, recipients of basic social assistance, internally displaced persons, and families with children.
In total, this assistance is expected to cover almost 13 million people.
The funds will be paid as a one-off payment in April.
Payments will be made through existing social support mechanisms – into bank accounts or via “Ukrposhta”.
The statement also notes that the “National Cashback” programme allows the funds received to be used for the purchase of certain categories of goods.
These include food, medicines, medical supplies, books and other printed materials produced in Ukraine, registered in the programme and available at participating retail outlets.
Under the updated rules, the cashback amount depends on the type of goods.
Ukrainians will receive a 15% cashback on Ukrainian-made goods in categories with a high proportion of imports.
This includes, in particular, certain non-food items, cheeses, cereals and pasta.
For other domestically produced goods with a lower proportion of imports, including food, pharmacy products, and goods for the home, garden and vegetable patch, the cashback will be 5%.
