National Bank of Ukraine
The National Bank has updated its official currency rates, recording mixed dynamics for the dollar and euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has set the official exchange rates for Wednesday, 28 January. According to the regulator, the US dollar has fallen, while the euro has risen.

The official US dollar exchange rate will be 42.95 hryvnia, which is 17 kopecks less than on 27 January (43.12 hryvnia). At the same time, the euro exchange rate rose by 16 kopecks to 51.22 hryvnia against 51.06 hryvnia the day before.

The Ukrainian currency market conducts transactions for the purchase and sale of cash and non-cash foreign currency, as well as bank metals. Market participants include banks, non-bank financial institutions, their clients, and the National Bank of Ukraine.

The NBU intervenes in the interbank currency market to cover the structural deficit of foreign currency and curb sharp exchange rate fluctuations. The official exchange rates of the hryvnia against foreign currencies and bank metals are calculated and set by the regulator.
