Lavrov called Zelenskyy a ‘boor’ and a ‘Führer’. But he says Moscow is ready for talks
This is reported by *Izvestia*.
At the same time, Lavrov accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of setting “unrealistic and even insolent” conditions.
According to Lavrov, Zelenskyy is “imposing conditions” on European countries, which he once again referred to as “curators”, whilst the West is “pushing Zelenskyy to the forefront of the war against the Russian Federation”.
“A Führer is a Führer. He was cast in the role of a Führer, plucked from the ranks of amateur actors, but this image has proved contagious,” Lavrov stated.
Among other things, the Russian Foreign Minister stated that the Kremlin harbours no illusions about the EU’s actual plans regarding its involvement in the settlement of the situation in Ukraine. Although he accused Europe of “meddling with its assessments of the negotiations, trampling on every glimmer of common sense” shown by US President Donald Trump’s administration;
he added that the US appears to be stepping back from its claims to the role of an effective mediator on Ukraine, whilst simultaneously ramping up sanctions pressure on Russia.
