Магнітна буря 30 березня 2026 року: якою буде сонячна активність
This has been reported by the Space Weather Forecasting Centre.
On 30 March 2026, solar activity with a K-index of 4 is forecast.
The report notes that geomagnetic activity is measured on a scale from 0 to 9. The planetary K-index is used to indicate this, and a reading of 5 or higher is considered a severe magnetic storm.
It is also emphasised that magnetic storm forecasts may change, as solar activity researchers update their data every three hours.
What is a magnetic storm and how does it affect people
A magnetic storm is a phenomenon caused by regular flares and eruptions on the Sun, which release a significant amount of solar energy.
It consists of charged particles – protons and electrons – which move rapidly in various directions, including towards Earth. When they reach Earth’s magnetosphere, activity occurs which scientists refer to as magnetic or solar storms.
The K-index is used to classify magnetic storms. Levels ranging from 1 to 4 are considered minor and often go unnoticed by people on Earth. Any magnetic storms exceeding a K-index of 5 are classified as red-level storms, which can have the greatest impact on human well-being.
Furthermore, during high-level magnetic storms, disruptions may be observed in the operation of mobile phone masts, satellites, radio frequencies and GPRS. If the storm reaches a K-index of 7 or 8, auroras may be observed.
Magnetic storms affect atmospheric pressure, so some people may experience headaches, fatigue and stress. As noted, there are no specific medicines for magnetic storms, but the condition can be alleviated using standard remedies to relieve symptoms.
On such days, it is advised to stick to a daily routine and diet, get plenty of sleep, eat healthy food, and reduce consumption of spicy, salty, and fatty foods, as well as alcohol and coffee. It is also recommended to drink herbal teas and more water, take walks in the fresh air, and, if possible, go out of town, but avoid direct sunlight.
Separately, it is advised to avoid conflicts and stressful situations, and for people with chronic conditions – to rest more and keep necessary medication to hand. A contrast shower in the morning may help, and a relaxing bath in the evening.
