Магнітні бурі 23 квітня 2026 - вчені дали спокійний прогноз на кілька днів
This has been reported by the British Geological Survey.
According to scientists, the speed of the solar wind remains elevated for the time being due to the influence of a coronal hole. However, it is expected to drop to background levels as early as today or tomorrow. Researchers note separately that there are currently no reports of any coronal mass ejections heading towards Earth. For this reason, no magnetic storms are forecast for 23–25 April.
The forecast states that the next high-speed stream may hit Earth only after 25 April. However, its expected impact is assessed as not very strong. Overall, the next few days, according to space weather forecasters, are expected to be calm, although short periods of increased activity are possible due to the residual influence of the coronal hole.
Consequently, experts do not expect any geomagnetic storms on 23 April. This means that the coming days should pass without significant magnetic disturbances, despite the increased solar wind observed earlier.
What is known about the source of magnetic storms
The article also includes a separate scientific section on the nature of magnetic storms on the Sun. Researchers believe that the source of powerful magnetic processes is located at a depth of around 200,000 kilometres – in the tachocline zone between the Sun’s layers. It is there, as explained, that strong magnetic fields form, which subsequently manifest on the surface as sunspots and flares.
Furthermore, this data confirms the link between such processes and the 11-year solar activity cycle, which influences the occurrence of magnetic storms on Earth.
Meanwhile, a deterioration in the weather is expected in Ukraine on 23 April. According to the official forecast by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, moderate rain is expected during the day in most regions, with light rain in some parts of the western regions, whilst at night in the western and northern regions, and during the day across the country, gusts of wind of 15–20 m/s are forecast. Daytime temperatures will range from 6–11°C, 12–17°C in the south and far west, and 4–9°C in the north-east.
As reported by ThePublic, the UK Parliament has approved a bill banning the sale of cigarettes to anyone born after 1 January 2009. If the bill receives royal assent, the country will become one of the first in the world to actively create a ‘smoke-free generation’.
