In the Rivne region, a court has found a female driver guilty of hitting a wild deer named Boris in the village of Zarichne at the end of March 2026 and fleeing the scene of the accident. The animal, which became popular on TikTok, sustained injuries but survived and is now recovering under the care of forest rangers.

This was reported by the State Forestry Agency of Ukraine.

In the Rivne region, a court has handed down a verdict regarding a female driver who, at the end of March 2026, hit a wild deer in the village of Zarichne and left the scene of the accident.

The woman was found guilty of breaching the Highway Code and leaving the scene of the accident.

The deer in question is Boris, who became famous on TikTok.

The animal sustained injuries in the accident. However, according to the police, its life was not in danger.

The deer was not seen for several weeks after the accident. It is now known that Boris is alive and gradually recovering.

The State Forestry Agency of Ukraine has reported that the deer is safe under the supervision of forest rangers.

“He has now chosen to seclude himself in a marshy area, as this is natural for a wild animal and helps him recover from stress and treatment. Forest ranger Ruslan Khrystiuk monitors him daily, bringing food and checking on his condition using a quad bike, a drone and a thermal imager,” the agency stated.

The State Forestry Agency noted that Boris has lost a little weight. At the same time, this is actually beneficial for the animal due to his injured leg, as the reduced weight eases the strain.

A new spacious enclosure with water bodies and natural conditions is already being prepared for the deer.

The agency emphasised that Boris will only be returned there when he himself is ready for contact.

“Our main request to people is not to look for Boris and to leave him in peace,” the agency added.

As reported by ThePublic, in the Zarichne district of Rivne region, during the night of 23–24 March, a car struck Boris the deer, who was well known to local residents and thousands of people on social media. Following the collision, the animal sustained serious injuries and is in a critical condition, whilst the driver, who fled the scene of the accident, is being sought.
