In the Pokrovsk direction, a Russian spy has been detained
This was reported by the SBU press service.
The agent's task was to patrol Pokrovsk and the surrounding area, photograph Ukrainian positions. The Russians were most interested in the coordinates of fortifications, command posts, and ammunition depots.
The SBU identified the offender in advance. He turned out to be a 34-year-old electrician from the neighboring city of Myrnograd.
To recruit the GRU agent, they involved his classmate, who is fighting against Ukraine.
“Law enforcement documented the offender's contacts with a “liaison” of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and detained him. They also secured the locations of the defenders of Pokrovsk,” the message states.
During searches, the agent's phone with an anonymous chat was confiscated, where he coordinated his actions with the occupiers.
He was charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.
