In Zaporizhzhia, the network of anti-drone tunnels on frontline roads is being expanded
In the frontline communities of the Zaporizhzhia region, large-scale reinforcement of key logistics routes is continuing. To date, more than 100 kilometres of anti-drone nets have been installed on seven sections of important roads. Dozens more kilometres of protective structures on two routes are in the final stages of construction, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, in his Telegram channel.
The work is being carried out by units of the State Special Transport Service. The priority of the sections is determined taking into account real threats, in particular the intensity of attacks by enemy FPV drones. Such tunnels create a physical barrier for drones and make it possible to secure the movement of military convoys, medical brigades, humanitarian cargo and civilian transport.
The effectiveness of these solutions has been confirmed in practice. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, has published photos from the frontline roads showing a Russian Molniya strike drone that got tangled in an anti-drone net and failed to reach its target. According to the regional governor, such protective tunnels save lives and preserve equipment every day.
The regional authorities emphasise that the construction of anti-drone corridors is part of a systematic effort to anticipate threats in conditions of constant attacks and is aimed at maintaining stable logistics in the frontline territory.
