National Police and SSU uncover large-scale mobilisation evasion schemes in several regions
National Police of Ukraine jointly with Security Service of Ukraine exposed a number of mobilisation evasion schemes in Odesa, Poltava, Donetsk and Dnipro regions. The criminals organised illegal border crossings and helped to register fictitious disabilities.
In Odesa region, two schemes of men's smuggling to Moldova outside checkpoints were documented. In one case, a client was promised to cross the border for $15,000, and in the second case, a man was to be transported in the trunk of a car for $13,000. The defendants were detained while receiving the money.
A fraud with registration of the second group of disability was exposed in Poltava region. A 48-year-old intermediary, together with medical workers, offered fictitious treatment and fake certificates. The cost of the service exceeded 6 thousand dollars and 5 thousand hryvnias, which gave grounds for deferral and pension.
In Donetsk region, a 62-year-old resident of Lviv region was detained for organising a trip to Hungary through Transcarpathia for $8,000. In Dnipropetrovs'k region, two more men offered transfers, routes through forests and inclusion in registers as unfit for service for $15,000.
All participants of the schemes were served a notice of suspicion. Their actions are classified under several articles of the Criminal Code. The maximum penalty is up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
