The Minister of the Interior has appointed Oleksandr Shevchuk as Deputy Head of the National Police and Head of the Department of Strategic Investigations. Klymenko signed the relevant order on 30 April.

Information regarding the appointment of the new head of the Internal Security Department has already been published on the website of the National Police of Ukraine

According to official data, over the past two years Oleksandr Shevchuk has headed the Internal Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine, and in 2023 he held the post of Head of the Strategic Investigations Directorate in the Odesa region. He served in the Security Service of Ukraine for over 20 years. He holds the rank of Police General of the Third Rank.

According to Oleksandr Shevchuk’s declaration for 2025, he and his wife own three plots of land in the Odesa region.

Shevchuk uses his father’s flat in Odesa, his mother’s house in Mykolaiv, as well as a parking space and a plot of land, free of charge. 

In the capital, the law enforcement officer rents a 66.5 sq m flat belonging to Hanna Slaboshevska. The family’s vehicle fleet includes a Volkswagen Tiguan, owned by the private enterprise ‘Anatolivske’ and used free of charge by his wife, and a moped owned by Oleksandr Shevchuk himself. 

In 2025, Oleksandr Shevchuk earned 1,356,567 UAH at the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine. He received a further 8,000 UAH for leasing property to the private enterprise “Fregat”. His savings include 10,000 dollars and 6,000 UAH.

As previously reported by ThePublic, following the terrorist attack in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, Andrii Rubel, who had held the post since October 2022, resigned as head of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
