Parts of Ukraine are set to experience rain and thunderstorms on 7 July: forecasters have named the regions
Weather forecast for 7 July
On 7 July, cloud cover will be variable across the country, with rain and thunderstorms affecting only some regions.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre has reported this on Facebook.

Where to expect rain and thunderstorms

On Tuesday, 7 July, variable cloud cover is expected across Ukraine. However, rain will not affect the whole country.

Precipitation, accompanied by thunderstorms in places, is forecast:

  • in the western regions – throughout the day;
  • in the northern, central, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions – also during the day.

There will be no rainfall in the rest of the country.

Winds are expected to be mainly south-westerly, at speeds of 7–12 metres per second.

What will the temperatures be at night and during the day?

Overnight, temperatures rose to 11–16 degrees. It was warmer in the south of the country and in Zakarpattia, where thermometers reached up to 19 degrees.

During the day, temperatures will rise to 24–29 degrees. It will be cooler in the western and northern regions, where temperatures are expected to reach 18–24 degrees.

Weather in Kyiv and the surrounding region

Separately, forecasters have issued a forecast for Kyiv and the region. Cloud cover will be variable, and no precipitation is expected overnight.

During the day, there may be brief showers in the Kyiv region.

Temperatures across the region will range from 11–16 degrees at night to 19–24 degrees during the day. In Kyiv itself, it will be slightly warmer: 14–16 degrees at night and 22–24 degrees during the day.

As a reminder, on the morning of 6 July, air quality in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, deteriorated sharply following a night-time attack by the Russian Federation – pollution levels reached the ‘harmful’ threshold.

During the day, the situation gradually improved thanks to rain, which washed harmful pollutants out of the atmosphere, although meteorologists have not yet identified the exact cause of the smog.

Meanwhile, meteorologists have already warned that the heatwave in Ukraine is gradually subsiding, to be replaced by variable cloud cover and summer showers at least until the end of the week.

According to the weekly forecast, rainfall on different days will affect either the western and central regions or almost all regions of the country.
