The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has stated that the Ukrainian Defence Forces have already carried out strikes on all of Russia’s major oil refineries. He made this statement during the NATO summit.

During the NATO summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian Defence Forces had already struck all of Russia’s major oil refineries.

“This is the new reality. There is not a single major oil refinery left in Russia that has not been struck by Ukraine,” said the head of state.

According to the president, this statement came following an attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil refinery in Siberia. He noted that such operations demonstrate Ukraine’s new capabilities in the use of long-range drones.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasised that Ukraine is waging war solely to defend its own territory and citizens, and not for the sake of geopolitical ambitions.

The President added that Ukraine now possesses some of the world’s most advanced capabilities in the field of drone technology. In this regard, he called on international partners to join the Drone Deal initiative, which envisages not only the procurement of Ukrainian drones, but also joint production, rapid access to means of protecting critical infrastructure, air defence systems and expanded cooperation in the field of security.

Earlier, Ukrainian drones attacked the Omsk oil refinery in Russia. The plant is located approximately 2,500 kilometres from the Ukrainian border; a fire broke out there following the attack. The Omsk oil refinery is one of the largest in Russia and processes over 20 million tonnes of oil annually.
