Law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of murdering People's Deputy Andriy Parubiy

There are the suspect's initial statements, urgent investigative actions are being carried out.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police have detained a person suspected of the murder of People's Deputy Andriy Parubiy. This is stated in an official message SBU.

The suspect was detained in Khmelnytskyi region. According to investigators, the attempt on the people's deputy was carefully planned in advance: the perpetrator studied the victim's travel schedule, mapped out the route, and prepared an escape plan.

Thanks to coordinated actions by the SBU and the National Police, within 24 hours of the attack, they managed to track down the suspect, and within 36 hours – to arrest him.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement will provide additional updates on the progress of the investigation.

«There are the first statements from the suspect. Urgent investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the details», – Zelenskyy reported.
