Prince Harry visited Bucha and paid tribute to those who lost their lives
During his visit to Ukraine, Britain’s Prince Harry visited the town of Bucha. This was announced on 24 April by the mayor, Anatoliy Fedoruk.
“The chance of meeting Prince Harry in Bucha was slim, but never zero! I am grateful to the Duke of Sussex for his visit, for his attention to Bucha and our tragedy, for his humanity and support for Ukraine. Light is always on the side of truth, and today it is with us,” Fedoruk wrote.
The published photos show that the prince was at the Church of St Andrew the First-Called. There, he paid tribute to those who died during the Russian occupation of the Kyiv region in February and March 2022.
Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on 23 April. This is his third visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war.
During his stay in the capital, he spoke at the Kyiv Security Forum, where he called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war against Ukraine. He also condemned the systematic war crimes being committed by the Russian Federation during this war.
Furthermore, the prince highlighted the role of the United States in the context of Ukraine’s renunciation of nuclear weapons.
“America was part of the guarantee that Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders would be respected. This is a moment for the American leadership, a moment for America to demonstrate that it can uphold its international treaty obligations — not out of charity, but based on its enduring role in global security and strategic stability,” he emphasised.
