Prince Harry is to bring Meghan Markle and their children to Britain for the first time in four years
Prince Harry is due to visit the UK in July 2026.
He is expected to be accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, their 7-year-old son Archie and their 5-year-old daughter Lilibet.
According to media reports, the visit is linked to the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which are due to take place in Birmingham.
When were Harry’s children last in Britain?
Archie and Lilibet last visited the UK in 2022.
At that time, the family travelled to the UK to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Since then, Harry has visited Britain on several occasions on his own, but has not brought his children with him.
Will the children meet King Charles III?
It is not yet known whether Prince Harry’s family will meet King Charles III during the trip.
According to British media reports, the monarch has not seen Archie and Lilibet since 2022.
It is reported that Harry would like his children to stay in touch with their grandfather.
Why Harry hasn’t brought his family over before
Security concerns have been cited as one of the reasons for the family’s prolonged absence from Britain.
After stepping down as working members of the royal family, Harry and Meghan lost their automatic police protection in the UK.
The prince attempted to challenge this decision in court, but lost the case.
What has changed now
According to media reports, Prince Harry is awaiting a final decision on security arrangements for his forthcoming visit.
The very issue of security had previously been one of the main reasons why he had not brought his children to the UK.
A possible visit by Harry, Meghan and their children would be a significant event for the British royal family.
Since moving to the US in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rarely visited Britain together, and their relationship with the royal family has remained strained.
