The Council has backed the digitalisation of sport and the creation of registers
This was reported by SUD.UA.
The Verkhovna Rada has supported, at first reading, a draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Physical Culture and Sport”.
The document provides for the creation and use of electronic registers and digital systems in the field of sport.
This involves streamlining the collection, storage and processing of data, as well as simplifying the management of these processes to implement state policy in the field of physical culture and sport.
The draft law proposes to add the term “Digital Sport system” to the law, update the definition of the term “sports facility”, and allow the use of state information resources in the state management of the physical culture and sport sector.
Furthermore, the document aims to establish a legal framework for organising data transfer through electronic information exchange with public electronic registers and the information and communication systems of state authorities.
The draft law also defines the powers of the central executive body responsible for shaping state policy in the field of physical culture and sport with regard to digitalisation.
In its opinion, the Main Scientific and Expert Directorate of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made a number of comments and proposals regarding the draft law, primarily of a terminological nature.
The Committee on Youth and Sport must ensure that the draft law is properly prepared for the second reading in accordance with the requirements of the Verkhovna Rada’s Rules of Procedure.
As a reminder, Ukrainian developers have presented the ‘Shriftoiz’ browser extension, which helps identify fonts of Russian origin on websites and offers replacements with Ukrainian typefaces. The project’s authors describe it as a tool for visual hygiene and a way to free the digital space from Russian influence.
