Parliament to consider law on Telegram: channels may be de-anonymised

The Ukrainian Parliament plans to consider a bill on the de-anonymisation of Telegram channels. The initiative provides for new rules for popular channels, including the possible mandatory registration of administrators and disclosure of their identities.

The initiative provides for the introduction of new rules for popular channels on Telegram.

In particular, it concerns the possible obligation for administrators of such channels to officially register and disclose their identity.

According to the MP, the bill aims to combat disinformation and manipulation on social networks.
