Rain and strong winds are on the way: what will the weather be like in Ukraine on 26 May?
Rain in Ukraine on 26 May
Parts of Ukraine will see rain again on 26 May. The forecaster also highlighted a key feature of today’s weather and warned of a drop in temperatures.

This was reported on Facebook by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.

According to her, today’s weather in Ukraine will be “meteorologically mixed”.

Some places will be cool, while others will experience almost summer-like heat

It will be coolest in the north-east of the country.

Air temperatures in the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Poltava regions will be just +17–19 degrees.

In contrast, the warmest weather will be:

  • in the Odesa region;
  • Mykolaiv region;
  • in Chernivtsi region;
  • in Zakarpattia.

There, temperatures will reach +25–28 degrees.

In most western regions, temperatures of +23–26 degrees are forecast, and in the rest of the country, +20–24 degrees.

The main feature of the day

Natalka Didenko has identified a gusty, and in places strong, north-westerly wind as a defining feature of 26 May.

This will be the main weather factor in most regions.

Where to expect rain

Rain is possible today:

  • in the east;
  • in the north;
  • in the evening in the central regions;
  • in the Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, in most southern and western regions, the day will pass without significant precipitation.

Weather in Kyiv

Strong, gusty north-westerly winds are forecast for the capital.

It will be dry for most of the day. Rain is possible only towards the evening.

The daytime temperature will be +22–23 degrees.

What’s next

The forecaster has warned that we shouldn’t expect any real warmth in the coming days.

The week will be fresh, and in places even cool. From the middle of the week, temperatures will drop by a few more degrees, and there will be occasional rain in various regions.

However, the weather is set to improve for Kyiv Day – the capital will warm up to a comfortable +20 degrees.
