Road repair works are currently in full swing across Ukraine and are already underway in every region of the country.

According to Kuleba, the pace of repair work is gradually increasing. Currently, approximately 60,000 square metres of road surface are being restored daily, and by the end of March, this figure is set to rise to 150,000 square metres per day.

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, together with the Recovery Agency, is constantly monitoring the progress of the work and coordinating activities across the regions.

As Oleksii Kuleba noted, a list of key roads of strategic importance has been drawn up in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Health.

This involves around 600 kilometres of logistics routes and evacuation corridors that support the functioning of the medical and defence systems.

These roads require additional measures, in particular anti-drone protection.

“Road repair works are already underway across the country. A separate priority remains the frontline roads, which support military logistics, medical evacuation and supplies for the Defence Forces,” Kuleba noted.

The total funding requirement for such works is estimated at over 12.8 billion hryvnias.

The government is currently working on a joint funding mechanism with the Ministry of Defence to restore key routes and implement the necessary engineering and protective measures.

The priorities for road works remain:

  • the country’s main logistics routes

  • international transport corridors

  • defence logistics roads

According to the Ministry of Development, over 500,000 square metres of damaged road surface have already been repaired since the start of 2026.
