Russia massively attacks Ukrnafta's facilities for the second day in a row
Russia has been conducting targeted attacks on Ukraine's oil and gas infrastructure for the second day in a row. Production facilities of Ukrnafta have been targeted, with almost 100 attack drones used over the past two days.
The company reported critical damage. The damaged equipment has been shut down for safety reasons. Rescuers and the company's specialists are working on the spot to eliminate the consequences of the shelling. Upon completion of the emergency work, the infrastructure will be restored.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Naftogaz of Ukraine Sergiy Koretsky said that Naftogaz Group is working under constant military threats and is concentrating all the necessary resources to restore the damaged facilities as soon as possible and ensure stable operation of the industry.
At the same time, the Russian army continues to attack the energy system. According to Ukrenergo, as of the morning of 24 December, new blackouts were recorded in Sumy, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions. Repair crews are already working to restore power supply.
Hourly power outages are in effect across the country, and emergency schedules are applied in some regions. The day before, consumers in Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions, as well as part of Chernihiv, were almost completely left without electricity due to massive strikes.
