Russia is preparing its strategic air force for possible strikes
There has been a redeployment of tactical aircraft and increased activity at air bases in Russia. The enemy is pre-loading aircraft ahead of strikes, and such activity has been observed in recent days.
Yuriy Ignat, Head of Communications for the Ukrainian Air Force, stated this during a live television broadcast.
“There have been many reports, and they are not appearing without reason – we have intelligence, data from partners, and our own reconnaissance forces. The redeployment of tactical aviation and activity at base airfields are being recorded. These are the airfields where drones once flew in. The enemy usually prepares its aircraft in advance of a strike, and such activity has been observed in recent days precisely at airfields where strategic aviation may be stationed. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that in the near future, within a few days… this could happen at any time, so we cannot say exactly when the enemy will strike,” said Ignat.
Monitoring channels report that over the past 24 hours, the redeployment of four Tu-95MS aircraft from the Ukrainka airfield to the European part of Russia was recorded, as confirmed by satellite imagery.
An An-124-100 “Ruslan” cargo aircraft also landed at the Ukrainka airfield. According to available information, the aircraft may have been carrying military cargo.
Ignat added that if the Air Force had information about preparations for a large-scale attack specifically for today, this would already have been officially announced.
Earlier, Yuriy Ignat reported that Ukraine is facing a shortage of missiles for the Patriot, NASAMS and IRIS-T air defence systems due to intense Russian shelling and difficulties with arms supplies.
