During the night of 16 March and throughout the following day, Russian forces attacked Kyiv and a number of regions across Ukraine using drones, missiles and artillery. Casualties have been reported in several regions, along with damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.

In Kyiv, debris from a Russian drone attack fell in the Solomyanskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. This was reported by the capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko.

According to him, debris from a drone fell in the city centre in the Shevchenkivskyi district. There were no fires or casualties.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that drone debris had fallen in the Solomyanskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. In the Solomyanskyi district, the debris fell in an open area. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, it fell on non-residential land, where the grass caught fire. Emergency services arrived at the scenes.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported high-speed aerial targets heading towards Kyiv.

In Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces attacked the city with drones. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, three civilians were injured. Among them were an 18-year-old man and women aged 48 and 81. All are receiving medical treatment.

The drones struck a residential area. Firefighters extinguished the fire that broke out at the site of the attack. As a result of the strike, over 7,500 households were left without power.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out 710 strikes on 34 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. These included 18 air strikes, 401 attacks by various types of drones, five attacks from multiple launch rocket systems and 286 artillery strikes. There were 88 reports of damage to homes, infrastructure and vehicles.

In Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck the Kyivskyi district. This was reported by the mayor, Ihor Terekhov. A strike by a Shahed-type drone was recorded. Later, another strike in the same district was reported.

In addition, a drone strike was recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district. At least one person was injured at the site of the attack. Another strike occurred on the border between the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Transport infrastructure was damaged.

In the Kharkiv region, Kharkiv and 18 settlements in the region came under Russian attack over the past 24 hours. According to Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, two people were injured. A 54-year-old man was injured in the village of Oskil, and a 42-year-old man was injured in the village of Cherkaski Tyshky.

Various types of weaponry were recorded in the region. These included Geran-2 and Molniya drones, FPV drones and other UAVs. Residential buildings, administrative buildings, power grids, transport and railway infrastructure were damaged.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops attacked the Nikopol and Synelnykiv districts with artillery and drones. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.

The communities of Nikopol, Marganetsk, and Pokrovsk were under fire. A 71-year-old woman was injured as a result of the attacks. Residential buildings were damaged.

In the Synelnykivskyi district, strikes were recorded in the Vasylkivska and Petropavlivska communities. As a result of the shelling, private houses, farm buildings and the premises of an agricultural firm caught fire.

In the Kherson region, five people were injured over the past 24 hours due to Russian strikes. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Dozens of settlements in the region came under attack from drones, aircraft and artillery, including Antonivka, Sadove, Molodizhne, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Nova Kam’yanka, Osokorivka, Velyka Oleksandrivka and Kherson.

A multi-storey building, 12 private houses, a shop, a gas pipeline, a warehouse, farm buildings, agricultural machinery, a minibus and cars were damaged.

In Mykolaiv, an educational institution and a multi-storey building were damaged as a result of a night-time drone attack. This was reported by Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. There were no casualties.

In addition, Russian forces attacked the Ochakiv community in the Mykolaiv district seven times with FPV drones during the day and night. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
