Consequences of the Russian attack on residential buildings in the Kyiv region
On the night of 26 February, the capital was hit by a missile and drone attack. Damage to residential buildings and fires were reported in three districts of Kyiv, but the fires have been extinguished.

At around 4 a.m., explosions were heard in Kyiv. According to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Military Administration, the city was attacked by strike drones and ballistic missiles. Air defence forces engaged the targets, and residents were urged to take shelter.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the consequences of the attack were recorded in the Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Pecherskyi districts.

In the Darnytskyi district, debris from the explosion damaged windows and doors in a first-floor apartment of a nine-storey residential building. There was no fire. According to preliminary data, no casualties were reported.

In the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris caused a fire in garages. The fire was extinguished at 06:28 on an area of 30 square metres.

In the Pecherskyi district, a fire broke out in a two-storey residential building on the territory of a private estate as a result of a strike. The fire was extinguished at 06:00 on an area of 30 square metres.

The State Emergency Service reported that all fires had been extinguished. As of this morning, there is no information on casualties, but this may be clarified.
