Russian intelligence may have passed on to Iran a list of 55 critical energy facilities in Israel. These are potential targets for missile strikes on the country’s power grid.

Russian intelligence has provided Iran with a detailed list of 55 critical energy infrastructure sites in Israel. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post, citing a source close to Ukrainian intelligence.

According to the information provided, the list contains sites that could be targeted by precision missile strikes on Israel’s power grid. The report states that the targets are divided into three categories depending on their strategic importance.

The first level includes key energy production facilities, notably the Orot Rabin power station, the destruction of which could significantly impact the functioning of the entire system. The second level comprises major urban and industrial energy hubs in the central part of the country. The third level includes local infrastructure, notably substations and smaller power stations.

According to the Russian assessment, Israel’s power grid has a high level of isolation, as the country does not import electricity from its neighbours. The report notes that damage to even individual key components could lead to a large-scale and prolonged energy collapse.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that cooperation between Russia and Iran was intensifying. According to him, the experience gained by Russia during the war against Ukraine is influencing other regions.

Zelenskyy also noted that Russia has begun supplying Iran with Shahed-type drones manufactured on its territory. He reported that Russian components were found in a drone shot down in the Middle East.

The Ukrainian side believes that the transfer of such data may be aimed at strengthening an ally in the region and creating a new crisis that would divert attention from the war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov stated that Russia and Israel have long maintained contacts on security issues. According to him, the Russian leadership has repeatedly rejected accusations of transferring intelligence data to Iran.

Russia is facing mounting pressure due to the situation on the front line, economic problems and strikes by Ukrainian drones on its territory. European officials suggest that Moscow’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric may be linked to attempts to restart the negotiation process on its own terms.
