Russian attack on Odessa region's energy infrastructure: tens of thousands of families left without power
On the night of 24 February, Russian troops struck energy infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region, seriously damaging one of DTEK's power facilities in Odesa. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
The attack left about 30,800 families without electricity. According to energy experts, the damage is significant, and it will take a long time to repair the damaged equipment.
Emergency crews and specialists are currently working on site: they are clearing debris, assessing the extent of the damage and preparing for repair work. Once the preparatory stage is complete, the gradual restoration of energy equipment will begin.
DTEK emphasises that the priority is to restore power supply to critical infrastructure facilities in order to restore heat and water supply to the homes of the region's residents as soon as possible.
