Russian shelling in regions of Ukraine on 28 April resulted in deaths and injuries

Over the past 24 hours, several regions of Ukraine have reported casualties and damage caused by Russian attacks. Residential buildings, infrastructure and businesses have been targeted.

Sumy Region

Over the past 24 hours, 19 settlements in the Sumy, Shostka, Okhtyrka and Konotop districts came under fire. Russian forces used guided aerial bombs, attack drones, artillery and mortars.

A woman was killed in the Shostka community. A private house and a warehouse were destroyed.

In the Yampil community, four people aged 78, 75, 74 and 56 were injured. A pre-school, 14 apartment blocks, two shops and six cars were damaged.

In the Sumy community, 15 lorries and seven cars, two buses, the windows of a car wash building and a gas distribution point were damaged.

Investigators and bomb disposal experts were working at the scenes. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in relation to the attacks.

Zaporizhzhia region

Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia. Two casualties have been reported so far.

The air raid alert remains in force, and residents have been urged to take shelter.

Kherson region

Over the past 24 hours, four people have been injured as a result of Russian attacks.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian troops have attacked the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts nearly 30 times using drones and artillery.

In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Marganetsk, Mirivka, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka came under fire. Private homes and a farm building were damaged. A man was injured and has been hospitalised.

In the Kryvyi Rih district, Kryvyi Rih and the Zelenodolsk community were attacked. Infrastructure, private homes and a lorry were damaged, and a fire broke out.

In Kryvyi Rih, a man was killed and another injured as a result of a strike on an infrastructure facility. Later reports indicated one fatality and five injured men aged 31, 32, 41, 45 and 57.

Chernihiv region

Russian drones attacked agricultural enterprises and residential buildings.

In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, grain storage facilities caught fire. The fire was extinguished by rescue workers together with local fire crews.

In the Chernihiv district, residential buildings and farm buildings were on fire following strikes on the private sector. Work was temporarily halted due to the threat of further attacks.

There are no reported casualties or injuries at this stage.
