Russian shelling of Donetsk region: two dead and four wounded in 24 hours
As a result of Russian attacks in the Donetsk region on 1 February, two civilians were killed and four more were wounded. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Over the course of the day, law enforcement officers recorded 1,553 enemy strikes along the front line and in residential areas of the region. Five settlements were under fire: Kostiantynivka, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, as well as the villages of Dmytrivka and Rubizhne. Twenty-two civilian objects were destroyed, 19 of which were residential buildings.
Russian troops dropped three KAB-250 guided bombs on Sloviansk. One civilian was killed and another wounded in the attack. Fourteen apartment buildings and two cars were damaged.
In Kostiantynivka, a civilian was wounded by an FPV drone strike. In Mykolaivka, the same type of drone damaged a private residential building. The Russians fired on the village of Dmytrivka with a Smerch multiple launch rocket system, damaging three houses.
In addition, on the night of 2 February, Russian troops struck Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka with MLRS. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed and two others were injured.
The police and the Security Service of Ukraine have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — war crimes.
Law enforcement officers are urging residents of the region to strictly observe the curfew, not to travel on unverified routes, and to use organised evacuation. Citizens are also asked not to touch suspicious objects and unexploded ordnance and to immediately report them to rescuers by calling 101.
