During the night of 18 March and over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have attacked a number of regions in Ukraine using drones, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. There have been fatalities and injuries, and damage to residential, critical and transport infrastructure.

In the Kharkiv region, on the night of 18 March, Russian forces struck a residential area of the village of Zolochev in the Bohodukhiv district with a drone. The strike caused structural elements of two destroyed private houses, covering an area of 180 square metres, to catch fire. According to preliminary reports, five people were injured. State Emergency Service units were working at the scene; 14 rescuers and three pieces of equipment, including a medical team and a community rescue officer, were deployed to deal with the aftermath.

On the evening of 17 March, a Russian FPV drone struck a shop in Slatyn, Kharkiv region. Two 41-year-old men were injured. One of them was hospitalised, whilst the other refused hospitalisation. According to Vyacheslav Zadorenko, head of the Derhachi City Military Administration, the hospitalised man’s life is not in danger.

In the Odesa region, on the night of 18 March, Russian troops attacked a critical infrastructure facility with strike drones. The strike damaged the facility itself and some of the equipment. The fire that broke out following the strike was extinguished by emergency services. The work was complicated by repeated air raid alerts. There were no fatalities or injuries, and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.

In the Polohivskyi district, one person was killed and another injured as a result of the attack. Sixty-six reports were received of damage to residential buildings, non-residential structures, infrastructure facilities and vehicles.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the enemy attacked two districts more than ten times over the past 24 hours using artillery and drones. In the Nikopol district, strikes hit the communities of Nikopol, Pokrovsk, Marganetsk and Chervonohryhorivka. In the Synelnykivskyi district, the Russians targeted the Mezhivska and Vasylkivska communities. A fire broke out, burning a private house and farm buildings.

In the Mykolaiv region, Russian troops launched strikes on the Mykolaiv and Pervomaiskyi districts. The Ochakiv community was attacked by an FPV drone, whilst the Kutsurub community was shelled in the morning, reportedly using multiple launch rocket systems. In the Pervomaiskyi district, a private house’s outbuilding and an overhead power line were damaged as a result of an attack by Shahed 131/136-type drones and falling debris. There were no casualties.
