Russian troops have attacked several regions of Ukraine; there are casualties
Several explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia this morning amid fears of high-speed missile strikes. An air raid alert was declared in the city. Residents were urged to remain in shelters until the alert was over.
Subsequently, Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhia district. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, at least eight strikes were carried out. Private homes were damaged in the village of Balabine.
Initial reports mentioned an injured woman who was receiving medical attention. It later emerged that one person had been killed and four others injured as a result of the attack. Several private homes in Balabine were destroyed.
In total, over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 804 strikes on 43 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. There were 85 reports of damage to infrastructure, homes and vehicles. A 58-year-old man was also injured in another attack in the Zaporizhzhia district.
In the Odesa region, Russian forces attacked the area with strike drones during the night. A critical infrastructure facility was damaged. According to Oleg Kipper, head of the regional state administration, there were no casualties, and work is ongoing to deal with the aftermath.
In the Kherson region, four people, including two children, were injured in shelling over the past 24 hours. Multi-storey and private houses, a service station, a gas pipeline, agricultural machinery, a garage and cars were damaged.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops attacked three districts with drones and artillery. In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Pokrovska and Chervonohryhorivska came under fire. Residential buildings, a garage and cars were damaged. A 28-year-old woman was injured.
In Pavlohrad, the attack caused a fire, damaging homes and shops. A 49-year-old man was injured. In the Mykolaiv community of the Synelnykivskyi district, cars were on fire and private homes were damaged.
In the Donetsk region, six people were injured over the past 24 hours. Three were injured in Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, and another three in Sloviansk, Mykolaivka and the village of Bilenke.
