Russian troops have attacked Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have launched attacks on several regions of Ukraine. Drone strikes have been reported in Kharkiv, whilst there have been casualties in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, and civilian infrastructure has been damaged in Sumy region.

Russian forces have launched another drone attack on Kharkiv. Strikes were reported in two districts of the city.

In the Industrial district, a car caught fire following an explosion. There were reportedly no casualties.

In the Nemyshlyanskyi district, a strike on the road caused damage to windows in five private homes and the gas network. Two people sought medical attention.

Another Russian drone struck the grounds of a allotment association in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. Following the explosion, a fire broke out in a utility building, and windows in a nearby block of flats were also damaged. There were no casualties.

Rescue workers, medics and law enforcement officers were at the sites of the strikes in Kharkiv. Explosive ordnance disposal teams searched the area for explosive devices, whilst psychologists provided support to those affected.

In the Sumy region, from the morning of 15 April to the morning of 16 April, Russian forces carried out over 40 strikes on 19 settlements across 10 local communities. Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed.

The heaviest shelling in the Sumy region was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and guided aerial bombs. Over the past 24 hours, 61 people were evacuated from border communities.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 711 strikes on 35 settlements over the past 24 hours. A woman was killed in an attack on Zaporizhzhia.

According to regional authorities, the Russians struck Zaporizhzhia with five missiles. They also carried out 12 air strikes on Lisne, Tavriiske, Danilivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Vozdvyzhivka, Kopani and Tymoshivka. There were 114 reports of damage to infrastructure, homes and vehicles.

In the Kherson region, two people were killed and 11 others were injured in Russian strikes over the past 24 hours, including two children.

In the region, five high-rise buildings, nine private houses, an administrative building, a shop, a farm building, agricultural machinery, a lorry, a private garage and cars were damaged. Twelve people were evacuated from the liberated communities of the region over the past 24 hours.
