Russian troops shelled several regions of Ukraine, causing deaths and injuries
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops attacked the Kryvyi Rih, Kamyanskyi, Synelnykivskyi, and Nikopol districts. According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanzi, Kryvyi Rih was under a massive attack, which caused fires and damaged infrastructure.
Transport infrastructure was damaged in the town of Verkhivtseve in the Kamyansky district. Two men aged 38 and 45 were wounded.
In the Synelnykivskyi district, the Pokrovska community was hit. A destroyed private house was on fire there. Two more houses and a fire station were damaged.
In the Nikopol district, the district centre and the Pokrovska community were shelled. A residential building was damaged.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that Russian troops shelled a fire and rescue unit building in the Synelnykivskyi district. No rescuers were injured.
The attack caused a fire in a residential area, damaging private houses, farm buildings and cars. Rescuers extinguished all the fires.
In the Odesa region, Russian troops attacked the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district with drones at night. According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kipper, the attack caused a fire at a disused recreation centre.
The fire engulfed wooden houses. A nearby four-storey building was partially destroyed. Civilian transport was damaged.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine specified that the fire at the recreation centre covered an area of 250 square metres. Firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading. There were no casualties or injuries.
In the Kherson region, three people were killed and four more were injured as a result of Russian strikes during the day. Antonivka, Komyshany, Molodizhne, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Novodmytrivka, Tomyna Balka, Yantarne, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Mykilsk, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Urozhayne, Milove, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Lvove, Novokairy, Nova Kamyanka, Respublikanez, Chervony Yar, Novoraysk, Monastyrske, Chervony Mayak, Borozenske, Novooleksandrivka, Zolota Balka, Burgunka, Vesele, and Kherson.
As a result of the shelling, a multi-storey building, 11 private houses and cars were damaged.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops carried out 552 strikes on 32 settlements in 24 hours. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov.
Russian aircraft carried out 19 strikes on Lyubymivka, Tavriiske, Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, Hirkove, Rivne, Svitla Dolyna, Shevchenkivske, Tsvitkove, Kopani, Charivne, and Verkhnia Tersia.
In addition, 306 drones attacked a number of settlements, including Novomykolaivka, Balabine, Novooleksandrivka, Stepnogorsk, Primorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohirya, Myrne, Zelen, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, and Zelenyi Hai.
Three rocket attacks were also recorded in Zaliznychne and Mirne. Another 224 artillery strikes hit several settlements in the region.
Thirty reports of damage to homes and infrastructure were received. There were no casualties.
In the Sumy region, Russian troops shelled 35 settlements. In the Mykolaiv community, a 58-year-old woman and two men, aged 61 and 24, were injured when a drone struck a car.
The car and a private house were damaged. In the Sumy community, two apartment buildings and a car dealership were damaged. In the Seredyno-Buda and Vorozhba communities, residential buildings were damaged.
Law enforcement officers inspected the sites of the strikes and recorded the damage. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in each case under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on war crimes.
In the Donetsk region, Russian troops killed two residents in Kostiantynivka over the past day. Five more people in the region were wounded.
In total, 4,074 people have been killed and 8,976 wounded in Donetsk region since the start of the full-scale war. These figures do not include Mariupol and Volnovakha.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 155 Shahed, Gerber, Italmas and other drones on the evening of 4 March.
The drones were launched from Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Gvardeyskoye and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 08:00 on 5 March, air defence forces had destroyed 136 enemy drones.
Eighteen strike drones were recorded hitting eight locations, and debris from downed drones fell on three locations. The attack continued, with several drones remaining in the air.
