Russia attacked a number of regions in Ukraine overnight; there have been fatalities and dozens of people have been injured

On the night of 15 July, Russian troops launched strikes on several regions of Ukraine. The attacks resulted in fatalities, with dozens injured, and caused damage to residential buildings, infrastructure and businesses.

On the night of 15 July, Russian forces launched attacks on several regions of Ukraine. Odesa, the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zhytomyr regions came under fire.

Odesa region

The highest number of casualties was recorded in Odesa. According to the State Emergency Service, a missile strike destroyed a seven-storey residential block. A non-residential building and a gas pipeline were also damaged. A fire broke out, which was extinguished by emergency services. Three people were killed and at least three were injured. Emergency services rescued three people, including two children.

Kherson region

In the Kherson region over the past 24 hours, one person was killed and a further 23 were injured as a result of Russian strikes, including a child. Two high-rise blocks, two private houses, a farm building, minibuses and private cars were damaged. Nine people were evacuated from communities near the front line.

Zaporizhzhia region

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 1,031 strikes on 58 settlements. According to the regional military administration, one person was killed and four were injured. There were 94 reports of damage to residential buildings, infrastructure, vehicles and outbuildings.

Sumy Region

In the Sumy region, 17 people were injured over the past 24 hours. Sixteen communities came under fire. Russian troops used guided aerial bombs, attack drones, FPV drones, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. In the Sumy community, seven people were injured following a strike by cluster munitions, including an 11-year-old boy. Residential buildings and a petrol station were damaged.

In addition, Russian forces attacked two petrol stations in Sumy. A 63-year-old minibus driver sustained serious injuries as a result of the strike. A fire broke out at one of the petrol stations, and infrastructure was also damaged.

Zhytomyr Region

In the Zhytomyr region, a petrol station in the Malyn community was hit. One person is known to have been injured and is currently in hospital.

Chernihiv Region

In the Pryluky district of the Chernihiv region, a man born in 1989 was killed when a Russian drone crashed onto the grounds of a private property. A residential building and a car were damaged. A fire also broke out on the premises of one of the local businesses. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, the roof of a residential building caught fire after being struck by a drone. Firefighters extinguished all the blazes.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops attacked three districts of the region with drones and artillery. A 53-year-old man was injured.

Donetsk region

In the Donetsk region, one person was killed in Raigorodok over the past 24 hours. A further seven people were injured, including in Raigorodok, Mykolaivka and Kramatorsk.
