Russia has attacked several regions of Ukraine with drones and artillery; there are casualties
Odesa Region
Two people were injured in Odesa as a result of an attack by Russian drones. They include an 11-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man. They have received medical treatment.
In the Kyiv and Primorsky districts of the city, drones were reported to have struck three residential buildings. One single-storey house in the Primorsky district was destroyed. The facades, roofs and windows of the other buildings were damaged.
A secondary school and a nursery were also damaged. The strikes caused fires, which were extinguished by the emergency services. Over 80 State Emergency Service personnel and 20 pieces of equipment were deployed to the scene.
Kherson region
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and nine others were injured as a result of Russian strikes over the past 24 hours. A multi-storey building, 15 private homes, a shop, a bus and cars were damaged.
On the morning of 18 May, a Russian drone attacked a public transport stop in the Korabelny district of Kherson. A 60-year-old man was injured. He was diagnosed with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his leg.
Zaporizhzhia region
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 756 strikes on 42 settlements over the past 24 hours. Three people were injured. Dozens of reports were also received regarding damage to homes, infrastructure, vehicles and farm buildings.
Sumy region
In Hlukhiv, Sumy region, a drone attack caused fires in buildings at an educational institution. The fires were extinguished at three locations. According to the State Emergency Service, there were no casualties.
Kirovohrad region
In the Kirovohrad region, a residential building in the Kropyvnytskyi district was damaged by a Russian drone attack. The roof of a private house caught fire over an area of 40 square metres. There were no casualties.
Chernihiv region
In the Chernihiv region, residential buildings and a car caught fire in the Koryukivka district as a result of Russian attacks. Two people, born in 1974 and 2001, were injured and hospitalised.
In Chernihiv, two cars caught fire and a two-storey building was damaged. In the Chernihiv district, private houses and an unused shop building were damaged.
