Saldo stated that the power supply had been cut off in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. The power cut schedules in Crimea are not in effect
Pro-Russian collaborator Vladimir Saldo and Russia’s puppet in Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, wrote about this on their Telegram channels.
According to the collaborator Saldo, energy workers and emergency services are already on site working to restore power. Aksyonov confirmed that power cuts are still ongoing across the whole of Crimea as a result of the attacks.
“At this stage, precise power cut schedules may not be adhered to, due to the constantly changing operational situation. Power cuts will be carried out on a case-by-case basis and as necessary. I ask for your understanding in this matter,” stated the occupation leader.
Aksyonov added that the problem of fuel shortages in the temporarily occupied Crimea remains acute, but “both federal and regional authorities are working to resolve it”. He assured that as soon as the situation improves, “you will notice it immediately”. The puppet leader also thanked the people of Crimea for their “unity and mutual support”.
What is happening in Crimea
In early June, the Ukrainian military announced that it had established aerial control, using drones, over part of the Russians’ land route to occupied Crimea.
Amid the drone attacks, the sale of fuel at petrol stations in Crimea has been suspended — it will now only be supplied to state services. In occupied Sevastopol, the power supply was cut off following a drone attack on energy infrastructure on the night of 24 June.
Robert Brovdi (Madyar), Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, stated that Ukraine could isolate Crimea by taking full control of the key ‘Novorossiya’ motorway. Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov claimed that Crimea is “turning into an island” due to the large-scale isolation of the peninsula by drones. National Guard spokesperson Ruslan Muzychuk stated that strikes are currently being carried out across virtually the entire depth of Crimea’s territory.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that “the operation, particularly regarding Crimea, has been carefully planned”. He added that Ukraine “will swiftly create the conditions under which Russia will be forced to choose peace” should international partners provide the specific assistance discussed at the G7 summit.
In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have significantly increased the number of drone strikes on Russian logistics in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. In particular, Ukrainian drones struck the ‘Dzhankoy’ checkpoint and the bridges near Chongar — which connect Crimea with the Kherson region.
