SBU, Prosecutor's Office, and DBR exposed the deputy head of one of the NABU detective units
This is reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in December 2023, the family of an NABU official purchased a two-room apartment in one of Uzhgorod's residential complexes, valued at nearly $100,000 USD. The fact of the property purchase is confirmed, in particular, by correspondence between the NABU employee and his wife, testimonies of the real estate seller and the notary who conducted the re-registration of the apartment, as well as other evidence.
According to the investigation, to conceal his involvement with this property, the NABU official and his wife decided to register ownership of this property to a third person – the mother of a close acquaintance.
Despite the family residing in the apartment, in his 2023 declaration, the NABU official did not mention this property at all, and in his 2024 declaration, he marked it as rented. However, according to the obtained evidence, the person on whose behalf the property was registered did not receive any payment for using the residence.
The suspect has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate submission by a declarant of knowingly false information in a declaration of a person authorized to perform functions of the state or local self-government, as provided by the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption").
In addition to false declaration, law enforcement authorities established that the parents of the NABU official hold Russian passports and reside in the temporarily occupied territory, but the suspect did not indicate this when filling out documents for access to state secrets, thus violating the law. As a result of a comprehensive check, the Security Service of Ukraine revoked his access to state secrets.
The media report that this concerns the detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Vitaliy Tebeekin.
