Law enforcement officials reported the exposure of four more organisers of illegal sales of trophy weapons in various regions of Ukraine. Automatic weapons, grenade launchers, sniper rifles and explosives were seized from them.

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police announced the arrest of four individuals who attempted to sell captured weapons.

A 57-year-old man who had previously served a sentence for murder was detained in Kyiv. According to the investigation, after his release, he organised an underground trade in weapons of war. He involved his 65-year-old acquaintance in this activity. Together, they organised a channel for the illegal transfer of captured weapons from the frontline areas of eastern Ukraine to the capital.

The weapons were stored in the basement of a private house for further sale. During the search, 56 small arms, over 5,500 rounds of ammunition and a 30-millimetre mounted automatic grenade launcher were seized.

Separately, in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, another suspect was exposed who kept 15 Kalashnikov assault rifles in a rented apartment and his own car for sale.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a 54-year-old car mechanic from the Kamyansky district was detained. According to the investigation, he had set up a cache in his own yard to store plastic explosives, TNT with detonators, and boxes of ammunition. He was detained while searching for customers on messengers to sell his hidden arsenal.

All detainees have been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.

The seized weapons are planned to be transferred to the Defence Forces on the front line.

The proceedings were conducted by the Kamyanska District Prosecutor's Office, the Pecherska District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, and the Darnytska Specialised Prosecutor's Office for the Defence of the Central Region of Ukraine.
