The Ukhtinsky Oil Refinery in the Komi Republic, Russian Federation, is on fire.
On 12 February, units of the Security Service of Ukraine and other components of the Defence Forces struck an oil refinery in Ukhta, 1,750 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, causing a fire at the facility.

On 12 February, units of the Security Service of Ukraine and other components of the Defence Forces, as part of systematic measures to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation, struck the Ukhta oil refinery in the city of Ukhta, Komi Republic. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The distance from the Ukrainian border to the facility is 1,750 kilometres. According to preliminary information, after the strike, a fire broke out at the plant in the AVT technological area and the visbreaking unit.

The visbreaking unit is designed to reduce the viscosity of raw materials in order to obtain commercial fuel oil and additional light fractions, in particular petrol and gas oil. The enterprise is part of PJSC Lukoil and processes about 4.2 million tonnes of oil per year. Its main products are motor and straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil and vacuum gas oil. The plant is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army.

Earlier, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the drone attack on Ukhta. Komi Governor Rostislav Goldstein reported a fire at the refinery. According to Russian Telegram channels, the fire started in the industrial zone. The extent of the damage and the final consequences are being clarified.

The General Staff emphasised that the Defence Forces will continue to take measures aimed at weakening the combat potential of the Russian aggressor.
