A ranking of the world's armies by defense expenditure has been compiled
Ukraine ranks 8th in the world for defense spending. In absolute numbers, Russia surpasses us by almost three times.

Thus, based on data collected by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, a top list of countries by military expenditure in 2024 has been compiled. The top ten looks as follows:
USA – 997 billion dollars;
China – 313 billion;
Russia – 149 billion;
Germany – 88 billion;
India – 86 billion;
United Kingdom – 82 billion;
Saudi Arabia – 80 billion;
Ukraine – 64 billion;
France – 64 billion;
Japan – 55 billion.
All countries in the top ten increased their defense spending compared to 2020. The largest increases are Ukraine (+838%) and Russia (+126%), the smallest are Japan (+3%), France (+10%), and China (+10%).
In 2020, Ukraine's defense expenditures amounted to 6.8 billion dollars.
