A heatwave with temperatures reaching 48 degrees in Asia and the Middle East
Forecasters are warning of a prolonged spell of extreme heat across parts of the Northern Hemisphere. In countries across Asia and the Middle East, temperatures could rise to between 40 and 48 degrees even in the shade, and the nights will not bring any significant relief from the heat.

This is reported by planeta.pl.

The hottest period of the year is beginning in parts of the Northern Hemisphere.

While it has become cooler in Ukraine and a number of European countries, forecasters are predicting a prolonged spell of extreme heat in the Far and Middle East.

According to meteorologists, intense heat is already being observed in the Far East.

Before the start of the monsoon season, temperatures there will continue to rise. After that, the scorching air masses will begin to shift towards the Middle East.

The situation is particularly severe in India, where temperatures have already risen to +47 degrees.

In the near future, the heatwave may spread to neighbouring regions.

Where the highest temperatures are expected

According to forecasts, extremely high temperatures will affect areas stretching from the India-Pakistan border to the countries of the Middle East.

The heatwave will affect Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Oman and parts of Saudi Arabia the most.

In many areas, air temperatures may exceed +40...+48 degrees even in the shade.

It will be even hotter in direct sunlight.

No significant relief is expected at night either. Temperatures will often remain at around 25–30 degrees.

Experts warn that such weather conditions could significantly disrupt people’s daily lives and work.

Climatologists also note that due to global climate change, periods of extreme heat in these regions may become more frequent and prolonged.

In Europe, such temperatures are still rare, but the number of hot days is also gradually increasing.

When will it get warmer in Ukraine?

It has become cooler in Ukraine in recent days.

The most noticeable drop in temperature has been observed in the west of the country, where night-time frosts have returned in some places.

According to weather forecasts, the cool weather will continue for a few more days.

It is expected that by the end of the week, on 17 May 2026, temperatures across Ukraine will rise to summery levels of +22...+27 degrees.

As reported by ThePublic, on 13 May 2026, Orthodox believers commemorate the holy martyr Glykeria the Virgin. Also on this day, the world celebrates World Dandelion Day, International Hummus Day and the Birthday of the Zipper.
