Special Operations Forces struck the Russian port of 'Kavkaz' in the Kerch Strait
Units of the Deep Strike Group of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have struck the Russian seaport of ‘Kavkaz’, located near the town of Chushka on the Russian side of the Kerch Strait. This was reported by the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Facebook page.
According to military sources, this port is actively used by Russian forces for logistical support of occupied Crimea. The facility is located approximately 300 kilometres from the front line.
The port area houses berths, a ferry complex, as well as terminals for the transhipment of grain, petroleum products and chemical cargo. Russia uses the ‘Kavkaz’ port for import and export operations and for the transhipment of large-tonnage vessels in the roadstead.
The Special Operations Forces emphasised that such deep-strike operations are directed at the enemy’s military and logistical facilities on Russian territory.
“Striking the enemy’s logistics hubs undermines its military capabilities,” the Special Operations Forces noted.
The Ukrainian military adds that Special Operations Forces units continue to employ asymmetric actions aimed at strategically weakening Russia’s ability to wage war against Ukraine.
