The "Winter Support" has started: who and how can receive 1000 hryvnias
As part of the initiative, Ukrainians can receive a one-time monetary assistance of 1000 hryvnias. This is reported by thepublic.info with a link to Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
Payment through "Diia"
Starting November 15, applications can be submitted via the "Diia" app.
After processing, Ukrainians will receive confirmation of their application, and the funds will be credited to the "National Cashback" card. Applications can be submitted until December 24, 2025, and the money can be used until June 30, 2026.
The funds can be spent on paying utility bills, purchasing medicines, food, books, charitable contributions, and postal services.
Applications for children are submitted by parents or guardians.
Payments through "Ukrposhta"
From November 18, all pensioners and social benefit recipients who use Ukrposhta services will automatically receive 1000 hryvnias on a special account. No additional application is required.
Ukrainians receiving pensions on bank cards and not using "Diia" can personally submit an application at a Ukrposhta branch from November 18 to December 24.
The funds can be used until December 25, 2025, for Ukrainian-made goods sold at Ukrposhta, as well as for postal and other services at branches, including paying utility bills and transfers to the Defense Forces.
A part of a broader package of solutions
The "Winter Support" program is an element of a comprehensive initiative implemented by the government at the president's instruction. It also includes:
- additional payments of 6500 hryvnias for vulnerable categories;
- free tickets under the "3000 Kilometers" program from "Ukrzaliznytsia";
- fixed prices for gas and electricity;
- housing subsidies;
- support for residents of frontline regions;
- assistance to IDPs during the heating season.
What is known about "Winter Support"
Recall that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, instructed the government to prepare a comprehensive "winter support" program for the population, similar to the one implemented in 2024.
The funds can be spent on utility bills, medicines, Ukrainian-made products, postal services, books, charity, and donations to the Defense Forces.
The goal of "winter support" is to reach as broad an audience as possible with government aid ahead of winter, help pay utility bills, and cover basic needs.
