Sviridenko announced that an audit of state companies will be conducted in Ukraine
Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in the energy sector, stated, that the Cabinet has instructed the supervisory boards of state-owned companies, including energy and defense, to conduct an audit of their enterprises.
According to the head of the government, the supervisory boards of Naftogaz, Ukroboronprom, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrhydroenergo, and state banks should, within their powers, analyze the activities of the executive bodies of these companies. Special attention, as Sviridenko says, should be paid to "transparency of procurement and financial control".
"In case of violations – take additional measures to strengthen control and inform the government. Also, ensure proper and immediate response to messages from law enforcement agencies regarding misconduct concerning the officials of these joint-stock companies," – the Prime Minister noted.
Sviridenko added that simultaneously the State Audit Service will conduct financial control of large enterprises in the public sector, particularly regarding the efficient use of budget funds and the reliability of financial reporting.
On November 12, Sviridenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a proposal to dismiss Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko and Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk, who are involved in investigations by NABU and SAP regarding theft in the Ukrainian energy sector. On the same day, Grynchuk resigned.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded the resignation of the heads of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Energy.
