Syrsky took tough measures due to the poor preparation of those called up
This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, 72 military units authorised to conduct basic general military training (BGMT) at their own bases were inspected in May.
"Following the inspection, a number of management decisions were taken, including some tough ones. Eight military units have lost the right to conduct basic training independently. Individual brigades and regiments have been tasked with reviewing their own capabilities and improving the conditions and content of training for recruits,” Syrskyi noted.
The general emphasised that when it comes to the quality of training, “no one is untouchable”, and added that the quality of military personnel training must “meet uniform high standards”. According to him, the human factor remains the decisive one.
“Where commanders look after their subordinates, improve living conditions, and develop the training base, where instructors mentor recruits and maintain constant feedback, — there is a higher quality of training and fewer cases of desertion,” Syrskyi stated.
He also emphasised that the military plans to enhance the level of psychological training and introduce additional measures to prevent desertion.
As a reminder, earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Russia wants to double the proportion of attack drones in its attacks. The Armed Forces are already preparing for new challenges.
