Taras Topolia reported the attack following the leak of a video featuring his ex-wife

Taras Topolia spoke about this in an interview with Marichka Dovbenko.

Singer Taras Topolia reported that following the incident involving the release of an intimate video of his ex-wife Olena Topolia, those around him began receiving suspicious calls and messages purportedly sent on his behalf.

According to the artist, this happened early in the morning. He said that his friends began receiving files that were supposedly sent by him. Later, he said, it turned out that the calls were coming from a Spanish number.

Topolia suggested that unknown individuals might have been attempting to obtain additional information through his acquaintances in this way. However, he emphasised that he does not know who exactly is behind these actions.

The singer had previously stated that his family was being deliberately targeted. The artist did not name the person he believes to be involved, limiting himself to the phrase that “the investigation will establish”.

At the same time, he clarified that, according to him, this does not concern the 23-year-old man whom the police suspect of extorting money from Olena Topolia.

Topolia also stated that this is not the first time he has received threats. According to the singer, he had previously requested state protection for his children, and “bags had exploded” near him in Kyiv. Furthermore, he claims that there have been repeated attempts to hack his phone.

The artist linked this to his public and private activities. He noted that the band “Antytila” is not just about music, but also other activities through which they sometimes cross paths with people who, in his words, lose millions of hryvnias. As an example, he mentioned the issue of copyright.

On 19 January, Olena Topolia reported that an intimate video of her had been published online without her consent. According to her, this was followed by blackmail and demands for money. She stated that she had no intention of “hiding or feeling ashamed” and filed a report with the police.

Later, the police reported the arrest of a man born in 2003 who may be involved in the distribution of this video. He was charged under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – extortion.

After the leak became public knowledge, Taras Topolia supported Olena Topolia and stated that she had every right to her own private life. Olena

Topolia herself later also refused to name the person who, in her opinion, may be involved in this incident.
