The death toll from the Russian strike in Kyiv has risen to 24, three of whom are children
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported that, as of 06:00 on 15 May, 24 people, including three children, have been killed as a result of a Russian strike in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv.
Rescue workers are continuing emergency rescue and search operations at the site of the strike.
According to the State Emergency Service, psychological support has been provided to 398 people. Dog handlers have searched 2,800 square metres of the area.
Rescue workers have also cleared 3,180 cubic metres of building debris.
In total, 47 people, including two children, were injured as a result of the Russian missile and drone strike in Kyiv. A further 30 people were rescued.
Rescuers are continuing to clear the rubble and search for people in a building in the Darnytskyi district.
15 May has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv for the victims of the Russian attack. Flags have been flown at half-mast on all municipal buildings in the city. It has also been recommended that national flags be flown at half-mast on both state-owned and privately-owned buildings. All entertainment events are banned in the capital throughout the day.
According to information previously published by ThePublic, during the massive attacks on 13 and 14 May, Russian forces deployed 1,567 drones and 56 missiles of various types.
