The NABU and the SAPO have reported a new wave of disinformation in Russian and pro-Russian media regarding alleged “investigations” into the wife of the President of Ukraine. The anti-corruption authorities have emphasised that this information is untrue.

This was reported by NABU and the SAPO.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have responded to reports in Russian and pro-Russian media regarding an alleged “investigation” into the wife of the President of Ukraine.

NABU and SAPO stated that these reports are fake.

The anti-corruption bodies emphasised that they are not carrying out any procedural actions referred to in such disinformation campaigns.

The statement notes that such reports are part of a systematic disinformation campaign by the aggressor state.

According to NABU and the SAPO, its aim is to discredit Ukrainian institutions, undermine trust in anti-corruption bodies, destabilise the socio-political situation and weaken Ukraine’s unity in the context of a full-scale war.

NABU and the SAPO have called on citizens and media representatives to verify information, use official sources and refrain from spreading manipulation and fake news.

The anti-corruption bodies emphasised that Russia is using such disinformation campaigns as part of its information war against Ukraine.
