The Russians destroyed the factory and warehouses of the body armour manufacturer UKRTAC
This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing the company’s founder, Severion Dangadze.
According to him, the missile struck the company’s production facilities directly, completely destroying the factory and warehouses. At the same time, Dangadze emphasised that the most important thing was that none of the employees were injured during the attack.
“We will recover. We will continue to operate. And we will do everything to make UKRTAC even stronger,” he said.
What is known about UKRTAC
UKRTAC was founded as a volunteer initiative following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Initially, the team supplied the Ukrainian military with body armour sourced from abroad, and later established its own production facilities.
Today, the company manufactures body armour offering the highest level of protection, plate carriers and other military equipment. According to the manufacturer, the company is capable of producing up to 20,000 body armour vests per month.
UKRTAC is one of the largest suppliers of body armour to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the security services, rescue workers and critical infrastructure personnel. The company also manufactures body armour for women, equipment for humanitarian demining, and was the first in Ukraine to launch mass production of buoyant body armour capable of keeping a fully kitted-out soldier weighing up to 120 kg afloat.
According to the company, its products are adapted to modern threats, including drone attacks, shrapnel from ammunition and modernised bullets. Prior to the invasion, the company was also considering entering international markets.
