Tymoshenko to appeal HACC decision on bail of 33 million hryvnia
People's Deputy Yulia Tymoshenko announced that she will appeal the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, which imposed a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 33 million hryvnias. She told reporters about this after the court hearing on 16 January.
According to Tymoshenko, the defence intends to file an appeal. She also noted that she disagrees with the information presented by the prosecutor of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office during the trial.
Earlier, on 13 January, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the SAP announced that they had exposed the leader of one of the parliamentary factions for attempting to bribe MPs to vote on certain bills. On 14 January, Tymoshenko confirmed that searches had been carried out at the Batkivshchyna party office and rejected all accusations.
Anti-corruption authorities reported suspicions that the leader of one of the Verkhovna Rada factions had offered illegal benefits to MPs. On 16 January, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) imposed a preventive measure on Tymoshenko in the form of a bail of 33 million hryvnias, after which the politician announced her intention to appeal the decision.
