A tragic night in Odessa: two people have been killed in an enemy attack
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the latest attack on the city
The night of 11 April was a tragic one for Odesa. Two people were killed as a result of enemy strikes on a residential area. Two more casualties are in hospital, where they are receiving the necessary treatment. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who have died.
The enemy caused significant damage to the city’s civilian and critical infrastructure. The following were hit:
-
dozens of private and multi-storey buildings (roofs and facades damaged, windows shattered);
-
a nursery building and a student hall of residence;
-
catering establishments and infrastructure facilities.
Since last night, utility services have been working at all locations, clearing the area and sealing damaged sections of buildings.
A mobile command centre has been set up to provide immediate assistance to those affected. Specialists from the district administration are helping those affected with:
-
Filling in forms for aid from the city and regional budgets.
-
Submitting applications for compensation under the state ‘e-Recovery’ programme.
Despite the difficult night, all services are working in unison to support residents and restore damaged property.
