The President of the USA reacted to the killing of a Ukrainian woman in Charlotte
Trump harshly criticized the Democrats for their lenient policy towards criminals, commenting on the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska.

He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.

The tragedy occurred on August 22 around 21:50 at the Lynx Blue Line station in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to a video recording released by the local transportation operator Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), the attacker — 34-year-old DeCarlos Brown Jr. — suddenly attacked a girl sitting in front of him in the train car and stabbed her three times, including in the neck. Zarutska died at the scene from her wounds.

In the USA, 22-year-old Ukrainian refugee Irina Zarutska was killed. The attacker turned out to be a homeless repeat offender known to the police for a series of previous crimes.

The police confirmed that there was no prior contact or conflict between the suspect and the victim. Brown was arrested shortly after the attack. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently in custody without bail. The court also ordered a psychiatric examination for him.

In his post, Trump called the suspect a “dangerous mentally unstable repeat offender,” recalling that he has at least 14 prior arrests. According to the president, in January 2025, Brown was released without bail after being charged with abusing the emergency call 911.

“This unspeakable tragedy is a direct result of liberal policies that protect criminals instead of citizens. Democrats, including former Governor Roy Cooper, are responsible for what happened. The blood of this innocent woman is on their hands,” — wrote Trump.

The US president called for a decisive return to “law and order” policies and expressed support for Republican candidate Michael Vetli in the upcoming Senate elections.
